Following-up on its inaugural event “The Beginning” last August, Vision Fighting Championship (VFC) has its eyes set on building a more successful second effort Saturday, March 19, in Karlstad, Sweden.
The promotion has just announced that the first Swede to make it into the UFC, Per Eklund, will be booked on the card. Eklund has not fought since his 2009 loss to UFC rising star Evan Dunham at UFC 95. Looking to build from this loss, Eklund was scheduled for the recent Rumble of the Kings event at Hovet on November 27, but could not participate due to a training injury. This fight will now start his comeback to the MMA scene.
Eklund will be facing Thomas “Moon Lee” Hytten, an experience fighter out of Oslo, Norway. His 14-7-1 record includes several bouts in European Vale Tudo (EVC) and a loss at Superior Challenge III. This booking will bring some star power to the event, that has has already seen popular Swedish MMA fighters Hamid “Akira” Corassani and Magnus “Jycken” Cedenblad.
