“I’m so happy, you can’t even imagine” says Reza Madadi to MMAViking.com the morning after he got the news that he was signed to the UFC. The Allstars Training Center fighter was warmly greeted by teammates as he stepped into the gym with the official title of current UFC fighter, instead of former. “I’m back” says the lightweight with a smile.
“Every human makes mistakes” says Madadi that was convicted of a smash and grab incident, where he recently spent over one year in jail and subsequently released from the UFC. “When nobody believed in me, I believe in myself.”
“I don’t want people to remind me I’m a bad guy, I want to be known as a fighter and entertainer. I have a second chance.” – Madadi
“Fans don’t just pay for one fight, they pay for three to see me. Weigh-in, the fight, and the after party.” says the always outgoing fighter that put together a 2 win and 1 loss record in the Octagon, including a stoppage over top 10 lightweight Michael Johnson. If Madadi has his way, look for him to be ready to fight after the summer. “I don’t want to just jump in the cage tomorrow, I want to be as ready as possible.”
