This past sunday the UFC announced that Sweden’s own Magnus “Jycken” Cedenblad is set to face Italy’s pride Alessio Sakara on UFC Fight Night Bisping vs. Munoz. Tom Watson who was originally scheduled for the bout was forced to pull out due to an injury. In Magnus’ latest video blog “My Life as Jycken”, Magnus talks about getting the call from his manager Manos Terzitane late last week, and what went through his head at that time.
“My goal is to evolve as a fighter and constantly test myself, so this fight is really a true test to my standup game. To step up and fight Alessio Sakara, who’s been in the UFC for seven years, had fourteen fights there, won against Thales Leites and gone the distance with Chris Weidman. He’s a really good fighter who’s been at the top so to get the chance to fight a guy like that is something I can’t turn down”.
