Nicolas Dalby battled with Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos for 15 minutes in Goiania Brazil, getting the split decision win making him just the second Dane to ever with in the Octagon. “I didn’t feel like I did enough to be 100% sure I got the nod.” says Dalby to MMAViking.com about his feelings before the scorecards were read in his UFC debut.
“I knew it was a close fight, but I just assumed I loss” says the welterweight that mixed in take-downs to control much of the action. “It was like being a pinball machine” jokes the Sharpshooter about the experience.
“This was a test to show if I belong or not. It was a tough matchup for a first fight. I can hang at this level.” reflects the Cage Warriors champion that pushed his undefeated record to 14 wins.
The outgoing fighter talks about all the fun he had in Brazil. “I was DJ’ing for KJ Noons for his warm-up.” says the Dane who also spent time with King Mo and Ryan Jimmo. “I got to get King Mo to walk in with me and hold my banner.”
“I’ve been celebrating pretty hard” admits Dalby that isn’t shy to put on a leopard suit and hit the town. He is however back in the gym and looking to take the next step in his career. “I want to fight late August or early September.”
