MMA Attack promotion announced today on Twitter that Finnish lightweight Juha-Pekka Vainikainen (20-6) will face rising Polish talent Piotr Hallmann (12-1) at MMA Attack 3. The show will be held on 27th of April in Katowice, Poland.
Long time Euro Top 10er Vainikainen suffered a defeat in his last fight to highly regarded Russian Shamil Zavurov who was able to outwrestle the Finn for three rounds. Before the loss Vainikainen was riding a nine fight win streak. Long limbed Vainikainen is known for his high volume striking and constant pressure in the cage.
Poland’s own Hallmann is one of the brightest lightweight prospects in Europe. Athletic Hallmann has steadily climbed the ladders in the Euro circuit and holds notable wins over Finland’s Jarkko Latomäki and Montenegro’s Vaso Bakocevic. In his last fight at the Celtic Gladiator 6 in February 2013 Hallmann submitted Ivica Truscek in the second round with a rear naked choke.
