Eklund has been fighting professionally since 2002. He is a veteran of FinnFight, M-1, Shooto, UFC, and Bodog. His most recent fight was at the Vision Fighting Championships in Karlstad, Sweden, in which he lost by TKO in the first round.

The First Swede in UFC

Eklund was the first Swede to fight in the UFC. He debut was against Sam Stout in January, 2008 at UFC 80. This first fight was a decision loss.

Eklund then came back strong at UFC 89 with a submission victory in the 3rd round against Samy Schiavo. He fought very aggressive, landing some huge shots before securing a rear naked choke.

His lost his last fought in the UFC against young prospect Evan Dunham. Evan came out aggressive, but lost in this UFC 95 event. After this loss, his UFC contract was not extended.
