European Fighting Challenge is not wasting any time putting together fluffy matchups, as they pair two young monsters in their first event EuroFC 1 on October 1st in Espoo. Dane Søren Bak (7-0) and Finn Aleksi Mäntykivi (9-4) have been booked, and will clash in the debut event.
Bak is coming off his first KO, when he downed previously undefeated fighter Alex Rodrigues (5-1) this past weekend at ICE FC 15. The CSA.dk fighter, known for his grappling, showed that he can do it on the feet with power. The 23 year old “True Viking” will look to enter enemy territory when he fights in Finland again against a local fighter.
Mäntykivi was on a five fight winning streak, before his most recent split decision over Zurab Betergaraev at WFCA 16 in March. The “Hurricane of Violence” previously fought out of Lappeenranta and represented Team East Front, but last year moved to Hardknocks gym in Helsinki. He was MMAViking.com’s Nordic Prospect of the Year in 2015.
