Mikael Silander (10 wins & 3 losses, #1 Nordic Flyweight) looks for another win at the popular Cage promotion based in Finland. Hulk slammed Spain’s Tony Caizedo so hard at Cage 25 that the impact made Caizedo tap out. This Saturday night at Cage 26, he will look to do it again against another Spaniard as he faces undefeated Dani Barez who also holds a win over Caizedo. “I will beat him with my own strengths and determination.” says Silander to MMAViking.com about his upcoming bout in Turku.

Interview
How was your trip to London to watch the recent UFC?
The trip to London was awesome! I was very impressed how the whole event was organized and how well everything worked there. The fight card was interesting, because of the scandinavian fighters and two flyweight fights.
How was it to see a former opponent Neil Seery in the Octagon?
I was excited to see Neil Seery’s fight. He had a tough fight against highly rated British fighter Brad Picket. It was nice to see Seery performing well. It`s always nice to see your earlier opponent performing in another fight, because that gives yourself understanding where your own potential is.
How much do you know about Daniel Barez who you are facing this Saturday at Cage 26?
Daniel Barez is not well-known fighter to me. But as far as I know something about him, is that he is very aggressive and young fighter. He is apparently capable of stop fights standing-up and on the ground.
How will you beat Barez?
I will beat him with my own strengths and determination.
What did you learn most about your two losses last year?
What I learned was the concentration on the right things in the fights and the growing hunger for winning.
What will you do for fun this summer?
In the summer I`m gonna do some wakeboarding and barbecuing with my girlfriend and friends. And there`s also possibility that I`m gonna go abroad training, if there comes a good chance for that.
Please list any sponsors or anything else
I wanna thank my sponsors (Betsafe, Puhdistamo Real Foods, Fast, Twins Finland, Björn Borg, Länsi-Espoon putki Oy) for making the training possible. And thanks to all my supporters for supporting my way back to the top of Europe.
