Sadibou Sy notches the biggest win of his career by beating former UFC title challenger and Bellator champion in the co-main event at PFL 6 at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Sy was able to defend take-downs early and cut MacDanold with a kick early. The Swede was able to use his reach to land jabs as the Canadian tried to force his way into safe distance and get the fight to the mat, but Sy was too crafty to avoid the take-downs and wins on points.
Sy defeated MacDonald by unanimous decision, earning 3 points in the Welterweight division and clinching the second seed in the 2022 PFL Playoffs. Sy returns to the postseason where he will take on Brazilian Carlos Leal, the third seed in the Welterweight bracket. Despite the result, MacDonald will enter the Playoffs as the division’s top seed and will take on Magomed “Prince” Umalatov, who defeated Jarrah Al Silawi earlier in the night with a vicious first round TKO.
