Finnish lightweight Niko Puhakka (27-13) fought today at the M-1 Challenge where he faced Russian Musa Khamanaev (13-3) for the vacant M-1 Lightweight belt.
Khamanaev’s superb wrestling and strong Ground and Pound proved to be too much for the Finn. Khamanaev took control of the fight right from the start with powerful takedowns and active work from top position. Puhakka took quite a lot of damage during the first two rounds from Khamanaev’s vicious strikes but the Finn showed his gameness once again and stayed in the fight for full five rounds.
