Patrik Pietilä (11-7) has been booked for the upcoming Bellator 227 card that will take place on September 27 in Dublin. The Finn steps in as a replacement for England’s Gavin Hughes to face Ireland’s Ryan Roddy (7-1-1). MMA Fighting was the first to report the bout. “I am happy to fight there” says Pietilä to MMA Viking.

Patrik is coming off his shocking win in Stockholm by outpointing David Bielkheden (26-13) in the co-main event at Cirkus in Stockholm at Superior Challenge 19. It was by far the biggest win for the Finn that moved up to welterweight to beat the UFC veteran.

Roddy is making his return to the cage after is 4 year layoff. He was last in the cage at M4TC 18 in 2015, when he was in a majority draw against now UFC fighter Chris Fishgold. He also has a win over Sweden’s Fernando Gonzalez.
This bout is set to take place in the lightweight division.
