Just two days before Pannie Kianzad (4 wins, 0 losses, #2 Nordic Ranking) looks to improve on her unbeaten run at Superior Challenge X, her fight record became more impressive as her last opponent, which she beat, got called up to the UFC. Kianzad who will be featured in her hometown on the main card at the Helsingborg Arena took a unanimous decision over Octagon bound Milana Dudieva last October, and now has her eyes set on doing the same. “After I beat Bucci, I’m hoping so” says the Rumble Sports fighter to mmaViking.com about getting into the UFC.
The Sweden based Kianzad will be facing Italian Annalisa Bucci (6 wins, 2 losses) at Saturday’s Superior Challenge X show. Bucci is a tough Thai boxing veteran with over 50 matches (37-14-3), but the visiting striker will have her hands full with Kianzad. “She’s a tremendous fighter, who’s very well-rounded. That might be her biggest strength.” says coach Tue Trnka.
“Super excited, never felt this good! Overall, mentally and physically” says the featherweight as she prepares to make weight in the morning. “Yes, this is my last 145” says Kianzad about her need to hit the 135 pound mark to get into the one weight class division for women in the UFC.
“She is evolving rapidly, and there’s no doubt in my mind, that she is headed for the very elite.” continues Trnka, who may have his second UFC fighter on the roster, Mats Nilsson being the first, after an impressive win on Saturday.
