Sweden’s Niklas Bäckström (7 wins, 0 losses, 1 N/C, #3 Nordic Featherweight) showed no jitters at the open workouts today at Berlin, just three days before his UFC debut against tough Finn Tom Niinimäki. MMA Viking’s Iikka Nikkinen caught talk to Bäckström after the fighter completed pad work with his coach Andreas Michael. “It helps a lot having guys around who have made their UFC debuts, I’ve learned a lot from them”, said Bäckström about the help he has received from Allstar Training Center teammates such as Alexander Gustafsson and Ilir Latifi. “I always stay ready, I saw the opportunity and I took it”, said the 24 year old fighter from Stockholm. “After I win this fight, I’ll be training the next day” says the Swede about his dedication to working hard.
