In response to Swedish MMA fan Johnny Solin’s inquiry about when the UFC would host an event in Sweden, co-owner and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta responded in a tweet “next year”:
Lorenzo Fertitta is working to expand the UFC overseas, but his comment about the timing of the event in Sweden is conflicting with both Dana White’s recent claim that the event will be held “this year”. Also, a more recent interview has Marshall Zelaznik, the UFC’s managing director of international development, stating that although nothing was confirmed they were holding a few venues for a November 5 date in either Stockholm or Malmö.
