Mikko Ahmala (6-4) stepped in on late notice and impressed on the FNF 15 card. After over a year layoff, the 25 year old fighter battled for 15 minutes against Mika Kuronen (2-4) in Karkilla getting a decision victory.
Kuronen was impressive early, using his wrestling to take control of the first round. But the Hardknocks Helsinki fighter turned things around with a left kick to the face leading to a take-down and ground and pound.
A finish looked near in the third round as Mikko looked for an ankle lock and came close to a rear-naked choke finish. It was not one-sided as Mika battled to the end, showing he was there to fight to the end.
An impressive performance for Ahmala with the long layoff due to surgery and a comeback on short notice. Almala now has a two fight winning streak.
