Swede Lina Länsberg (10-4) will face American Sara McMann (11-5) at UFC Raleigh on January 25. The UFC announced the bout today.
The “Elbow Queen” beat American Macy Chiasson (5-1) not far from her home city of Malmö at UFC Denmark in October. The No. 12-ranked Lansberg toppled the No. 11-ranked American TUF champ Chiasson. The Swede is now ranked #11.
McMann has not fought since February 2018, and she is coming off of two straight submission losses to Marion Reneau and Ketlen Vieira. The Olympic silver medalist gave birth to a baby boy in December of 2018.
McMann faced Ronda Rousey for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship at UFC 170 in 2014. The wrestler lost by TKO after getting knocked down with a knee to the body. McMann is ranked #9.
