Juho Valamaa will headline Fight Night Finland 10 (FNF 10) against veteran Jack Mason in a solid matchup of high-level European welterweights. The bout will take place in Turku on October 10th at the Kupittaan Urheiluhalli.
Valamaa stepped up to the main event status at FNF 9 in April, when his friend and training partner Tipi Hirvikangas was injured. The Finn got to showcase his much improved boxing when he dropped Gallon with a nasty body shot and continued to ground and pound until the referee had seen enough.
“I want an opponent who brings something more than a win on the record. I would like a name that gets recognized outside Finland, when I beat him.” said The Primus Fight Team fighter when he recently got assigned the top billing, and he just got that.
Mason has a record of 29 wins, 14 losses, and 1 draw and a long time veteran of Cage Warriors, beating such Nordic based fighters as Bruno Carvalho and Simeon Thresen. The Englishman turned pro in 2005. “”Stylistically this is a pretty good match-up for me. I’m confident I will have the tools to win.” says Valamaa to content partner FightSport.fi, who first announced the matchup for the promotion.
“Valamaa is one of biggest stars of Primus Fight Team is in shape of his life and he is eager to take this big challenge.” says matchmaker Olli Hartikainen. The FinnFighters Gym fighter has a three fight winning streak going, since losing to Johan Vanttinen in June of 2014. He has a 9 win and 3 loss record overall.
