Joni Salovaara (17-9) is scheduled to headline Cage 40 on September 9th at the Cultural Centre in Helsinki, Finland taking on experience Brazilian, Fabiano Silva (27-9-1).
The bout is due to take place at featherweight and will mark the twelfth time that Salovaara has competed under the Cage MMA banner. The thirty-one year old defeated Bulgarian Kostadin Enev at Cage 39 in April following his loss to Sweden’s former UFC featherweight Niklas Backstrom at Cage 37 in November 2016.
Fabiano ‘Jacarezinho’ Silva has spent the majority of his career fighting on Brazilian regional shows before joining Jungle Fight Championships and competed at both bantamweight and featherweight including a title challenge defeat to Rafael Miranda.

The Brazilian has also fought on the European scene with Polish promotion KSW as well as Akhmat Fight Show. He has never been stopped in his thirty seven professional outings.
