The Dane Jonas Magard (1-2) will face Daryl Golding (2-0) at the ICE FC event in Liverpool on February 20th.
Mågård currently stands with a 1 win and 2 loss record after suffering two consecutive submission losses after winning his professional debut in 2014. “You can expect to see a more relaxed and sharp Jonas Shark and this is both the physical and mental part.” says the Shark to mmaviking.com.
Since his last fight in 2015, which he lost by an armbar late in the third round, the Dane has changed gym from CSA.dk to Rumble Sports in Copenhagen, where he now trains under Tue Trnka and alongside other pro fighters such as Nicolas Dalby (UFC), Anna Elmose, Mads Burnell, Damir Hadzovic and Pannie Kianzad to name a few.
“I train with some of the best MMA fighters in Europe and it gives me a big advantage up to this fight! Another factor is that this match is at 66kg and not 61.2 as usual, that means I will not be cutting as much weight as I usually do, there is an advantage because I still have my strength and speed.”
His opponent is the still undefeated Englishman Golding who’s fighting out of Blackledge MMA, both of his fights has been stopped due to TKO’s early in the first round.
“I expect that my opponent is larger than me but I do not see ot as an advantage when he has the fighting style he has. Though I come in as the underdog and with a negative record against his 2-0, I don’t see myself as the underdog in this fight when you see what opposition I have met over the opposition he has met, I know that I have more experience than him. My greatest fear is that he pulls out with an injury for this match.”
