Joachim Christensen (12-3) is set for his return to Superior Challenge, to defend his light heavyweight belt. The Dane will face UFC veteran Ednaldo Oliveira (14-3-1-1) in Norrköping, Sweden on April 9th.
Christensen successfully defended his title against Max Nunes in Malmo at Superior Challenge 12. He followed up this win with another impressive outing versus Jonas Billstein, taking out him out in just 58 seconds.
Oliveira lost two fights in the UFC from 2012-2013, including a heavyweight bout with Gabriel Gonzaga, and since has gone 1 and 1. The Brazilian is 32 years old, and will be coming into the fight with a loss in October.
“I must say that I am very impressed by Christensen, and he just gets better and better. He said after his match at Superior Challenge 12, he has worked a lot with his boxing, which actually appeared a few months ago when he knocked down a top-ranked European KO champions under a minute. Even Ednaldo is an all-round fighter who has the size, scope and length on his side in this match. What an exciting fight, with the title belt at stake.” – Babak Ashti, Superior Challenge
