Joachim “Hellboy” Hansen made his much anticipated return to the fight game tonight when he faced Japanese Hiroaki Suzuki at the Shoot Boxing World Tournament. Unfortunately The Norwegian legend suffered a defeat to Suzuki after a hard fought battle.
The winner of the tournament was Andy Souwer who defeated Henry Van Opstal by points in a all Dutch finale.
Here is Sherdog’s Tony Loiseleur’s play-by-play of the fight.

Hooray! Joachim Hansen-Hiroaki Suzuki up next. A fine start to the S-Cup proper.
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
Dunno what Joachim is walking out to, but it’s got machinegun bass drum kicks, distorted guitars, & screaming. All’s right w/the world.
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
Suzuki lobbing lots of low kicks and strangely, going for singles. Joachim demonstrates the best sprawl in SB so far tonight. (Haha…)
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
But for the most part, a decent start for both men. Joachim chucks Suzuki out of the way, puts good combos together. Pretty even so far.
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
So Joachim gets warned for tripping & chucking Suzuki repeatedly to the mat. SB loves MMA fighters but not when they do MMA things…
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
Joachim shells up thru Suzuki’s onslaughts to fire back big combos of his own, but not much is getting thru.
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
I’m feeling Joachim should be winning here based on his defense & forward offense, but I have no idea what these SB judges are thinking.
Tony Loiseleur @JustTonyL
One judge has it 30-29 Hansen. The other 2 have it 30-30, 29-29. Time for an extra round!

Joachim goes for a big Rampage-like slam at the end of the rd, but it’s not a clean throw–no shoot pt. All 3 judges have it 10-9 for Suzuki
