Sweden’s Hamza Bougamza (1-0) will take on Romanian, Constantin Pirtea (0-1) on the ACB Manchester card on March 11. The promotion announced the bantamweight matchup with the highly decorated thaiboxning star who will have his second pro MMA bout at the Manchester Arena. Read the press release from the promotion below.
Both fighters only turned pro in 2016. Bougamza announced his arrival in the pro ranks with an impressive performance back in June at SFN 1. It was a tough opening test for the young fighter but after going three hard rounds and still being able to pull out the KO finish. It was a performance that put him on the map but showed the typical skill and heart that you’d expect from any fighter who trains and fights out of the world renowned Allstars Gym in Sweden.
Pirtea had a rougher ride into this new world of professional fighting. His first bout went down only a few months and it was a rude awakening as to the difference in levels he would now be stepping up to face. Pirtea succumbed in the first round to a guillotine choke but it is the testament to the man that he has jumped at this chance to right that wrong by stepping in the ACB cage on March the 11th against the tough young Swedish talent, Hamza Bougamza. Pirtea certainly has the skills to derail the Swedish hype train and he will be looking to showcase them and wipe the memory of his first loss away.
This is a match-up of rising stars. Will Bougamza continue to ride the wave of success in the cage or will Pirtea rise like a phoenix to take the win and show the world what his coaches and country can see in this young talent?
ACB Manchester goes down on March the 11th at the Manchester Arena.
