Alexander Gustafsson is ready to welcome the Jon Jones back to the cage. The Anti-Doping Agency announced that “Bones” was given a 15-month suspension and 3 months of community service for his second anti-doping offense. The American could fight again in late October, and the Swede is interested.
“Congratulations @jonnybones I’m really glad u are back! @dc_mma is aiming for Brock.. so let’s give the fans another legendary fight for the belt ??” posts the Allstars Training Center on social media.
The #1 light heavyweight contender recently pulled out of his UFC 227 bout that was scheduled for August 4th. “Shit happens. I have been having issues with my back thigh, but I feel good.” says Gustafsson to MMA Viking that is coming off a fifth-round KO of Glover Teixeira at UFC in Stockholm back in May of 2017.
Jones won the light heavyweight title versus Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 in July of 2017, when he failed the test.
Although there have been rumors about a Jones versus Gustafsson re-match at UFC 230 in New York City on November 3, UFC president Dana White said that Jones would not be on the card.
