Alexander Gustafsson will take on Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 232. However, the event planned for Las Vegas has now moved to Southern California after “Bones” USADA result showed a prohibited substance in his out-of-competition test earlier in the month.
The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) will not allow the former champion to fight in their state. However, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) has already granted Jones a license, so he can move forward in the state next door.
“Now we all understand why u didn’t take the Wada test! U can be on rocket fuel,, I’ll still gonna finish u Jon!”
It is a massive change of plans, where many from Sweden were going to the big event, including two MMA Viking team members. Instead of the planned T-Mobile Arena venue, it will now head to The Forum with tickets going on sale this Wednesday. Others will get refunds for their Las Vegas tickets.
Gustafsson took to social media to confirm his plans to stop Jones, which Ilir Latifi who will be on the main card versus Corey Anderson will also have his fight moved.
