Dana White declared that Alexander Gustafsson will get a shot at the light heavyweight title with a win at Sweden’s UFC on Fuel TV 9.
“If Mousasi beats Gustafsson, he skyrockets right to the top of that division,” White said from the press conference today in London. “And as far as Gustafsson goes, if he beats Mousasi in that fight, he’s in line for a title shot.”
The win in Stockholm would be 7 straight wins in the Octagon for Gustafsson. Mousasi will be making only his promotional debut with the UFC, but is the former Dream and Strikeforce champion and an overall 33 wins 3 loss and 2 draw record. He recently destroyed veteran Mike Kyle in January with a first round stoppage.
“This is a big fight for both of those guys.” continued White who also plans to be on hand at the UFC on Fuel TV 9 event, which takes place on April 6 at Ericsson Globe Arena.
