“I expect the Swedish crowd to be pretty loud. I believe I have a big fan base in Sweden. They love my kind of style of fighting and I am of course Scandinavian so we have a good connection. So overall I think it’s going to be a great night – I am really excited about this opportunity.” – Nelson
Story has a 17 win and 8 loss record overall, and won most recently just over two weeks ago against Leonardo Matra Texeira. The Horror trains out of MMA Lab in Washington. He has beaten current champion Johny Hendricks, and has won his last three of five bouts. His most recent loss was a split decision to Kelvin Gastelum.
Nelson is ranked #12 and Story is #15 according to the UFC welterweight rankings. After co-main event status for Fight Night Dublin, this will be the first headliner for the Nordic fighter.
