After dismantling vet Jack Mason at Cage Warriors 93 back in April with a highlight-reel finish, Hakon Foss (9-5) returns to action this weekend at Cage Warriors 100 in Cardiff, Wales against Aaron Khalid (8-4-1).
A long time member of Frontline Academy in Oslo, Norway, and with a career dating back to 2012, Foss has established himself as a household name in Scandinavian MMA.
A fan favourite with an aggressive style that can take the fight in every aspect of the game, MMA Viking took a small chat with Håkon, the self-proclaimed “striker with solid wrestling and slick submissions” in the last days in his camp.
“Its’ always good to be back in the cage and for cage warriors, It’s cool to fight there at a big card, but Aaron Khalid is just another fight.”
Khalid is currently on a 2 fight win streak, both coming via first round finish. The Welshman has secured in a finish in all but one of his pro wins to date.
The Norwegian has fought under the Cage Warriors banner 5 times already in his career. Last time out he snapped a 2 fight losing streak by stopping Mason within 2 minutes with an impressive series strikes at Cage Warriors 93. “I got to show case what my style is all about. Creative and ferocious.” comments Foss.
His camp has also aligned with teammate and close friend Jack Hermansson who will fight in the UFC on December 15 in the USA. “Me and Jack go back 10 years now, we have been training together for several fights even fought 2 times @ same card. Cage warriors and Venator.”
Foss will not be the sole Nordic fighter on the card as Denmark’s Nicolas Dalby (15-3-1) is also set to compete on the card.
