Kirsty Davis hit the scales at 119.5 lbs, which is 3.5 lbs over the straweight limit giving Finland’s Veera Nykänen (113.7 lbs) 40 per cent of the fight purse before stepping into the cage.
Cage Warriors officials have indicated that the bout will still proceed, however it will take place as an amateur and not a professional bout. The Finn, who sports a 3-0 ammy record, was expected to be making her pro debut.
This is Nykänen’s first Cage Warriors bout, and she is the only Nordic fighter on the CWFC 64 card, which takes place tomorrow night at the Kentish Town Forum.
