Emil Weber Meek (7-2-1-1) will be facing Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares (18-6) at Venator III. The promotion announced the bout today for the May 21, 2016 bout in Milan, Italy.

Meek has put together a solid two fight winning streak, but recently pulled out of a bout with a groin injury. “Valhalla” has moved to Oslo and training full time at Frontline MMA. He is set to face one of the most feared fighters in mixed martial arts.

“I’m gonna punch his head off.” – Meek

The Norwegian is confident about his chances, and doesn’t see the bout going to the ground, where the black belt has disposed of some of the best grapplers in the world.

Palhares was last in the cage at WSOF 22 where he beat Jake Shields back in August of 2015. He is on a four fight winning streak. The Brazilian was suspended for two years and $40,000 for gauging eyes and holding on to a submission too long, which wasn’t his first. The bout will be outside of the USA, so not under the jurisdiction of the suspension. However, WSOF, whom Palhares is currently under contract, may try and prevent the bout from happening.
