Anna Elmose (3-0) is quickly becoming one of the most devastating fighters in the Nordics. Three professional fights, and three finishes. The latest victim was Italian Mara Rombero Borella (6-2) who was KO’d by a punch at last night’s UCL 23 in Copenhagen. “When I landed that right hand I had no doubt she was out but I continued until stopped by the ref and I landed a couple of more punches while she was out. But that’s a part of the game.” says “Panda” to MMAViking.com.
The Rumble Sports fighter explains the relatively tame first 5 minutes before the devastating finish in the second. “The first round I tried to follow the gameplay that I made with Thomas Iburg (judoka) and Tue Trnka as we wanted to delete her judo throws and box her. She clinched up but I felt I had good control and was able to relax in my defense of the clinch and land some good knees.”
The 135 lbs. has transformed herself physically, too. With her amateur debut at Cage Warriors 66 last March, the fighter has slimmed down significantly and added power in the process of developing her undefeated run. “Yes I had a really easy weight cut this time. I just diet down and needed just one salt bath. It’s nice I feel strong and fast.”
While there is no next fight planned, as the Nordic MMA schedule takes a break before the fall, Elmose says “I will stay ready for any opportunity”
