Pancrase Stockholm fighter Lina “Lynx” Eklund stepped on the scale yesterday to make weight, but as she announced on Facebook her opponent Shana Nelson did not make the 135 lb contracted weight. “My opponent weighed in 5 lbs over!!! I’m still doing the fight!” commented Eklund who will fight professionally for just the second time.
Eklund (1 win, 0 losses) will take on Nelson (4 wins, 2 losses) was looking to drop from 145 lbs to turnaround a 2 fight skid. Nelson has a notable wins over Kaitlin Young and Yoko Takahashi. Eklund is the former body builder and gymnast will look to make her mark over a known name.
The fight will be streamed live at www.midwestfightshop.com. The bout with the Swede and the former Strikeforce athlete will be on the main card of Winter Brawl. The bout by CFX and Crowbar MMA takes place in Fargo, North Dakota. The live stream will start at 7:30pm Central time, which is 5:30pm PST, 8:30pm EST, 2:30 Stockholm, and 3:30 Helsinki.
