The media plans for UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit are now set, and Swede Besam Yousef will face American Stephen Thompson on the UFC’s Facebook page.
The prelim fight between Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Besam Yousef (6-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will feature fighters who are both coming off of losses. Yousef was submitted by Norwegian Simeon Thoresen in his April debut in Stockholm, while Thompson lost a unanimous decision to veteran Matt Brown at UFC 145. Yousef, who trains in Gothenburg, will join fellow Nordic fighter and welterweight Martin Kampmann who is in the co-main event against American wrestler Johny Hendricks, in what is seen as the #1 contender bout.
The last Nordic fighter to step in the Octagon, Reza Madadi, also had his bout shown for free and streamed live on UFC’s Facebook page. It is also expected that the bout will be streamed through YouTube. The Yousef bout is listed second by the UFC, so it should be the second bout of the evening after Darren Elkins and Steven Siler. UFC 154 takes place November 17 at Montreal’s Bell Centre and is headlined by a welterweight title bout between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit. Condit holds the interim UFC title, and faces the champion GSP who is coming off of knee surgery.
