Cage Warriors officials today announced that Swedish heavyweight Eddy Bengtsson will fight on the upcoming card on May 24th. He will join other Nordic fighters on CWFC Fight Night 6 card including Matteus Lahdesmaki and Diego Gonzalez.
Press Release :
A HEAVYWEIGHT bout has been set for CWFC Fight Night 6 in Bahrain on May 24, with Jay ‘Mean Streak’ Mortimore pencilled in for a bout against Eddy Bengtsson.
The pair were originally due to clash at Cage Warriors 45 in London on February 18, but Mortimore was forced to withdraw due to illness.
Mortimore (6-2-0), who’ll be making his second appearance for the organisation, hasn’t fought since a defeat to Andreas Kraniotakes at CWFC Fight Night 1 in Amman, Jordan last June. The 31-year-old Englishman’s only other loss came at the hands of Tengiz Tedoradze in 2010.
Bengtsson (5-3-0) is a Swedish wrestler who competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. The 32-year-old lost to Dave Keeley at CWFC 45 but bounced back by submitting Vasiliy Kachan at The Zone FC last weekend.
Cage Warriors still have one more bout to announce for the CWFC Fight Night 6 card, so keep track of us on Facebook andTwitter for the latest news and updates.
