Finnish lightweight Anton Kuivanen, who was recently released from his contract with the UFC, has agreed to fight at Cage promotions event labeled “Cage 22” on 11th of May. No opponent for the Finn has been announced yet but according to the rumors the promotion is looking for opponents mainly from Europe. Kuivanen is currently training at the American Top Team in Florida. He will return to Finland in April and prepare for the Cage 22 fight at the GB Gym in Helsinki.
At Cage 22 Kuivanen will defend his Cage lightweight belt that the promotion didn’t strip from him during his UFC run. Adding Kuivanen to the card could mean that Cage 22 will be the biggest MMA event ever in Finland. The card already holds many of the top ranked: Tom Niinimäki, Marcus Vänttinen, Kai Puolakka and so on. In the main event #2 Euro featherweight Tom “Stoneface” Niinimäki faces former WEC champion Chase Beebe. A win over Beebe should be the final push for Niinimäki to get signed by the UFC.
