For the first time…. in a long time, there are no scheduled bouts for any Nordic UFC fighters. It has been a busy year with fighters mostly fighting in Europe and throughout the US, but of the 13 active fighters only three have had a win in their last outing. While we should have an Alexander Gustafsson matchup announcement shortly, some fighters like Gunnar Nelson will likely extend their break to mid 2015, and Martin Kampmann may never step foot back in the Octagon. Below is a list of fighters and the last time in the Octagon.
Denmark
• Martin Kampmann (20-7) – Last lost to Carlos Condit by TKO at UFC Fight Night Kampmann vs. Condit 2 in August of 2013. While, the Hit Man is still on the active roster and has not officially said he has retired from fighting.
Iceland
• Gunnar Nelson (13-1-1) – Last lost to American Rick Story by split decision at UFC Fight Night Nelson vs. Story in October of 2014. Expected to take some time with his family, and come back some time in 2015.
Finland
• Tina Lähdemäki (5-1) – Last lost to Brazilian Claudia Gadelha by decision at UFC Fight Night Cerrone vs. Miller in July of 2014.
• Tom Niinimäki (21-7-1) – Last lost to American Chas Skelly by submission at UFC Fight Night Henderson vs. dos Anjos in August of 2014.
