One of Finland’s brightest prospects (11-4) Aleksi Mäntykivi won in impressive fashion on tonight’s M-1 Challenge 86 card. The Hardknocks Helsinki fighter faced a tough Bashir Gagiev (3-3) in Ingushetia, Russia and was looking good early until the Hardknocks Helsinki fighter finished with a second round guillotine that put the fighter to sleep.
The Russian fighter took down Mantykivi in the first round and looked solid with his strikes. Aleksi started landing hard leg kicks that seemed to take a toll. When Bashir had enough he shot in for another takedown, but the Finn immediately slapped on a guillotine and shortly after it was over. Impressive win at 1:06 into round 2.
Mäntykivi had a five fight win streak from 2014 to 2015, and his most recent outing in October 1, 2016 was a TKO win over the Cage Warriors star Soren Bak. Mäntykivi in his M-1 debut stopped Gagiev that was on a three fight winning streak with two in M-1 and another in ACB promotion.
