Juho Valamaa (15-4) is out of his planned bout with Shavkat Rakhmonov (7-0) at M-1 Challenge 87 on February 9th. The event will go down at the M-1 Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia, but the bearded Finn will not be participating.
“I hurt my shoulder last week, and I’m not in fighting condition” reveals the Finnfighters’ Gym fighter that improved his record to an impressive 9-1 in his last 10 fights with 6 by stoppage.
Valamaa was looking to return to M-1 again after his M-1 Challenge 82 bout in August, where he brutally KO’d Portuguese fighter Aires Benrois (10-6) in Helsinki, Finland.
Rakhmonov is a sambo fighter out of Kazakhstan with a ton of hype. The welterweight has 7 wins and 0 losses and has stopped all his opponents with no fight going to the third round. He was set for a title shot, but injury in 2016 prevented the bout from happening. It seems as though he will now fight Levan Solodovnik as a replacement.
Mikael Silander (17-5) will headline the card as he gets his M-1 interim title shot.
