Swedish light heavyweight prospect Karl Albrektsson (4-0) has announced that he has been booked for a fight with the new Japanese promotion Rizin FF. The bout is scheduled to take place in on April 17th at the Nippon Gaishi Hall in Japan.
The upstart Japanese promotion was launched last December for a huge New Year’s card, including an appearance by Fedor Emelianenko. Albrektsson will be the first Nordic fighter to take part with the promotion.
“Blood will be spilled, tears will fall, prayers will be heard, and a king will be crowned” says ‘King Karl’ to MMAViking.com shortly after the announcement.
Pancrase Gym’s Albrektsson submitted Poland’s Tomasz Janiszewski at IRFA 7 in his last outing back in November of 2014.
