Sweden based Ilir Latifi (10-4-1) will face American Sean O’Connell (17-6) this Sunday at Boston’s TD Garden Arena. UFC Fight Night is scheduled to be the fourth fight of the night, so likely around 1:00 Monday Sweden time.
Latifi just cracked the top 15 in the UFC and got back on the winning track in July with a KO over Hans Stringer. Prior to that, Sledgehammer was stopped by Jan Blachowicz in Stockholm.
O’Connell has a two fight winning streak in the Octagon, most recently stopping Anthony Perosh in May. The 32 year old has ben fighting pro since 2007 and also beat Matt Van Buren in the Octagon.
Latifi is the only Nordic fighter on the card, and has spent time in Florida in the last few weeks preparing for the fight. The event is headlined by a much anticipated bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz.
