Martin Kampmann lost another tough decision against Diego Sanchez at Thursday’s UFC on Versus 3.
The main event held at the the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky, was a close battle that saw the Dane drop a controversial decision against the once nicknamed fighter “the nightmare”. The loss comes on the heals of Kampann’s previous loss to the now title-contender Jake Shields.
While there was no doubt that “the hitman” won round 1 in convincing fashion with punishing strikes, the razor-thin, back and forth rounds 2 and 3 both went in Sanchez’s favor. If the scorecards were measured by visible damage, Sanchez would be left with a loss, as his face was swollen, cut, and bloodied.
While disappointed with the loss, the exciting bout was “fight of the night”, making the fighter a record $160,000 richer.
